Students will have potential access to technologies including Spinning Cone Column, Flash Détente, Electrodialysis, Floatation and Crossflow.Reporting to the Senior Winemakers (Mildura based) your primary duties will include:Vintage winemakers are assigned specific wines and other specific tasks to be their responsibility from grape through to juice and/or wine.Achieve and maintain wine quality standards, manage specific blends and styles as determined by the Senior Winemakers.Ensure that during vintage, grape intake operates efficiently and wine and/or juice styles are produced as intended.Ensure the winery and equipment is operated in the most efficient manner possible at all times.Promote good cellar hygiene and culture to ensure best practices are adopted at all times.Manage juice clarification, yeast cultures, malo cultures and ferments as determined by wines and tasks assigned to your portfolio.Assist with all aspects of wine production including:Understanding and adherence to product specifications and cellar standard operations.Conformance to industry regulations.Records and Planning.We are looking for:Formal qualifications: Tertiary qualifications or currently working towards the completion of Tertiary qualifications in Wine Science (or equivalent) is essential. A thorough understanding of grape productions practices and processes is required.Communication skills: We are looking for someone with strong communication skills who has the ability to build positive relationships within our business.A team player: We are looking for someone who thrives in a team environment where collaboration is at the forefront of day-to-day operations.Computer literacy: The ability to demonstrate sounds computer skills is essential.
