The role will be responsible for developing category and trade strategies to drive profitable brand portfolio growth across all channels. While this is a multi-national role, the key focus markets are initially Australia and the United Kingdom. The Head of Category is an experienced Category professional who can think strategically but still flex to deliver tactical, best-in-class solutions to our brand, sales, innovation, and commercial teams.  Reporting to the Marketing Director (Sydney based) your primary duties will include:Lead AVL Global category, shopper & consumer insights to develop actionable trade plans for our entire portfolio.Driving increased brand penetration and profitable sales volume with the customer.Provide insight on market and customer specific trends to support AVL’s short, medium and long term product development strategy.Lead annual Joint Business Planning preparation process between Sales and Marketing prior to engaging key customersLead the external engagement with our Insights suppliers including IRI, Nielsen, Drinks Association, Wine Intelligence, IWSR etcLead, develop and coach the global category team; two category and insights employees based in the UK.Partner with trade marketing teams in launch/ re-launch and consumer promotion activities: providing input for marketing to build marketing investment and associated trade plans  We are looking for: Commercial leadership: We are looking for someone with a strong history of commercial leadership across marketing, category &/or sales.Excellent Communication Skills: This role requires a high degree of stakeholder management and presenting both internally and externally.
